ChildHub – the leading platform and network for child protection professionals
The Child Protection Hub (ChildHub), created in 2015, is the leading platform and network for child protection professionals in Europe and beyond. ChildHub was developed out of a need for having an online space where resources and knowledge can be shared and where professionals from different countries can learn from each other’s experiences.
Our impact
Together with partners in eight countries in Southeastern Europe, we implemented the project with a triple purpose:
- Provide opportunities for learning using new technologies (e-learning, webinars, online case discussions),
- Create space for peer-to-peer learning (through meetings, conferences, roundtables as well as online communities of practice), and
- Gather more information on child protection issues and advocate for better child protection in the region.
Strengthening capacities in child protection
Even after the project concluded in 2022, the Child Protection Hub continues to thrive. This online platform offers free access to valuable resources, e-learning courses, webinars, and events. With over 31,100 registered users, ChildHub is the go-to place for child protection professionals across Europe, providing tools and knowledge to improve services for children.
"By now, ChildHub is the go-to place for thousands of European child protection professionals, while the model of operation of ChildHub has been adopted by other projects around the world. With the recent partnerships bringing a new life and meaning to ChildHub, we are able to reach out to our existing audience as well as to attract new ones with up-to-date resources, and thus further improve the quality of child protection services," shared Judit Nemeth-Almasi, Deputy Head of Tdh Regional Office in Budapest.
A global model for professional growth and collaboration
ChildHub has inspired projects globally, such as the Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub, which uses ChildHub's model to help local organisations build safeguarding systems. In 2024, we launched LocalLink Hub, a ChildHub-based platform dedicated to supporting Tdh partners and other local organisations with resources and capacity-building tools. ChildHub's impact continues to grow, with new platforms like the Tdh MENA Protection Hub and the child safeguarding platform of UEFA, expanding its reach to new regions and audiences.
As part of our partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), ChildHub hosts and promotes IFRC's e-learning course and resources on psychological first aid for children across 27 European countries. The course is freely available in English, Ukrainian, Romanian, Polish and Hungarian, with German and Portuguese coming soon.
We are also partners with Eurochild in the DAPHNE-CHILD programme, that provides support and grants for local NGOs in order to prevent violence against children in nine European countries. Through a dedicated ChildHub subpage, we promote the call for proposals and will feature the results of the work of the 45 grantees.
Everyone is welcome to explore ChildHub and its related platforms, and to strengthen their knowledge and practice through a wide range of resources.
